These positions are hourly technician positions whose primary functions are to apply electrical and electronic theory and related applications knowledge to design, build, install, repair, maintain, calibrate, and modify electrical components, circuitry, programming, and control systems. Provide expert level electrical troubleshooting and control systems support to mine production and maintenance operations for draglines and shovels

Required Qualifications:

  • Must work safely and promote the safe behavior in others
  • Demonstrate proficient knowledge and advanced skills required for installation and methodical troubleshooting techniques on critical Plant\ Pit control network systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform systematic maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting procedures on critical electrical mining trucks; Liebherr B & C models, Komatsu 930 & 960 models
  • Experience with Litronics, KEB or Siemens mining truck drive control systems.
  • Experience with compact controllers and I\O modules used on mining trucks - Ricos, WAGO, EPEC, Kontron.
  • Experience with communication bus networks – CAN, Fieldbus.
  • Proficient understanding of mining truck power conversion and inversion theory.
  • Maintain and secure PLC programs. Develop processes and standards for making program changes. Identify and implement methods to protect programs from unauthorized or unintended changes.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency using sophisticated testing equipment to troubleshoot and make electrical repairs (e.g., the DATAQ).
  • Mentor electrical technicians in the adopted methods for PLC programming techniques, as well as program maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • MSHA certified electrician.
  • 2 year degree or equivalent on the job experience
  • Proficient experience with Allen Bradley VFDs or Avtron drive systems
  • Experience with database administration, programming, and configuration or proficiency with the proper operation and use of the DATAQ including readings analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision on all aspects of the mine site.
  • Experience with all Allen Bradley PLC platforms.
  • Demonstrated expert level troubleshooting skills on all electrical systems.
  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary. The position will require some after hours and on-call responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills; must willing and able to instruct others on the technical aspects of the electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated advanced programming skills with Allen Bradley PLCs, Avtron drives, Medium voltage drives and some database experience would be preferred.
  • Proficiency with all necessary testing equipment.
