Operate and maintain the crane fleet at NARM. 

  • Ability and commitment to work safely
  • Ten (10) years heavy equipment maintenance experience in draglines and shovels
  • Ten (10) years experience operating 60 ton or larger cranes.  Prefer experience with 200 ton or larger mobile cranes to include lattice booms
  • Must have experience assembling, disassembling, and operating jibs, man-lift baskets, hydraulic cranes and related equipment
  • Must have the ability to maintain the crane fleet by performing routine maintenance and coordination of crane maintenance contractors
  • Experience in stick and wire feed MIG welding; able with the use of air-arch and oxy/acetylene cutting torches and plasma cutters.
  • Able to perform welding and mechanical repairs on heavy mining equipment such as, P&H and BE shovels, draglines, and Ingersol Rand drills
  • Able to read and interpret maintenance manuals and parts books
  • Able to read and use low voltage (24V) electrical, air and hydraulic schematics in performing repairs on mining equipment
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule depending on work load
  • Must be willing to work on short notice (go home on days to come out on nights)
  • Must be willing to cover for other crane operators when they are absent
  • Must be crane certified through the NCCCO

  • Stand, walk; sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch, crawl, and climb ladders/steps
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for a minimal distance
  • Talk to, communicate with and hear others
  • See (vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus)
  • Ability to maintain mental focus and concentration
  • Perform all duties day and night, on all surfaces and in all weather conditions
