Title: Drill Mechanic - DDS
About the role:
Peabody is seeking a Drill Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM) in Wright, Wyoming. NARM is the largest surface coal mine in the world, producing high-quality thermal coal that is transported by haul truck and shipped by rail. The operation maintains approximately 465 million tons of coal reserves and plays a critical role in delivering reliable energy resources.

Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values
- Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
- Inspect work area or hazards, damage and defects
- Diagnose faults or breakdowns
- Estimate time and materials required to complete jobs
- Raise orders for materials
- Undertake repairs or component changeouts as required
- Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
- Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot situations arising in the drill maintenance area
- Ability to operate oxygen/acetylene cutting torch and perform arc welding with low hydrogen electrodes
- Ability to use read and use low voltage electricial, air and hydraulic schematics in performing repairs
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, overhead shop cranes etc
- Ability to rebuild air valves and perform adjustments on air system governors
- Other duties as assigned by the company
Physical Requirements
SURFACE ENVIRONMENT
- Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders
- Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination
- Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 – 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift
- Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area
- Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays)

- Trade Certificate preferred
