Title: Specialist End User Computing- Operations
About the role:
We are currently seeking an End User Computing Specialist. This person is responsible for delivering reliable IT services across end-user computing and network support functions to meet operational and business needs. This role provides hands-on technical support at our Corporate office, along with travel and support to our US Mine operations. They will be ensuring employees have efficient, dependable, and well-supported technology environments. By combining onsite technical assistance with high-level network troubleshooting and coordination, the Specialist plays a key role in maintaining system availability, supporting connectivity, and enabling safe, productive operations.
Duties will include:
- End User Computing – Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, desk/soft phones, and related peripherals. Including imaging, provisioning, and deployment of systems, to ensure reliable performance, timely issue resolution, and alignment with corporate standards
- Network Support – Assist the site operations teams with the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure as needed. This includes switches, wireless access points, and connectivity issues across surface and underground environments.
- Incident Response & Field Support – Serve as an onsite point of contact for IT issues, responding to incidents and service requests, restoring service quickly, and documenting work performed to support operational continuity and follow-up
- Camera Systems Management – Manage and support local CCTV systems. Assist in support as needed at our operations. (surface, plant, and underground operations) Including installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance.
- Technical Alignment – Implementation and support of enterprise IT systems, including hardware and software upgrades, design changes, and infrastructure improvements as planned and developed by IT authorities
- Maintain and provision PC client image to all global onsites, keeping the task sequence up to date through the use of Microsoft System Configuration Manager (SCCM) and InTune
- Configure and Maintain Microsoft Intune for device enrolment and management.
- Provide responsive, flexible and high-performing IT Support for the Executive Level Team
- Maintain Audio Video conference room technologies. Such as Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
- Utilize Monday.com to document tasks and manage equipment inventories, warranties consumables, and other supplies by keeping accurate records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly by finding and correcting the root cause.
- Evaluate new technologies for use in the corporate office and field locations.
- Work with TCS onsite and offshore staff with troubleshooting and resolving technology issues to ensure downtime is minimized.
The Lifestyle:
This position is a full-time role, working from our corporate headquarters in St Louis, MO. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office / home working arrangements. This position does require travel. The salary range for this role is: $68,000 - $85,000.
About you:
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology/ related field or 5 + years of relevant work experience
- Preferred 2 years of experience in Information Technology
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license
- CompTIA certification that includes A+ and Network + preferred
- Knowledge of Windows Server, email systems, and backup systems
- Strong working knowledge of personal computer hardware, software, and operating systems
- Ability to coordinate and communicate plans with multiple parties in order to implement infrastructure, design, and system changes in a timely and accurate manner
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced industry and office atmosphere, and possess advanced problem-solving capability
- Good industry acumen and process knowledge
- Ability to gather, analyse, and summarize data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration to achieve department vision and goals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Physical requirements:
- Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks, which may include prolonged sitting or standing
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Must be able to use a computer
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively
- Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Physical Requirements, Underground Occupations:
- Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom
- Walking ability will be judged according to SCSR emergency evacuation plan required and approved by MSHA
- Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
- Must have the ability to bend or stoop for a full work period as a result of mine height
- Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs as well as good hand to eye coordination
- Must have the ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area
- Individuals must meet the minimum vision requirements of at least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) with or without correction and at least 70° field of vision in horizontal meridian measured.
