Title: Senior Global Cybersecurity Engineer - Operational Technology
About the role:
Peabody Global Cybersecurity is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Operational Technology (OT) to lead and support OT cybersecurity initiatives, with a primary focus on OT Risk Management and OT Vulnerability Management. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Cybersecurity, this individual will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s industrial control systems (ICS), PLCs, and other OT environments against evolving cyber threats.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in OT cybersecurity, strong analytical and technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT infrastructure, network engineering, and cybersecurity. The salary range for this role is $123k - $152k annually.
Duties will Include:
OT Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and document cybersecurity risks within OT environments, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, DCS, and PLCs.
- Conduct OT-specific risk assessments and threat modeling to evaluate the potential impact of cyber events on critical assets.
- Collaborate with enterprise risk management to ensure alignment of OT risk practices with broader organizational risk posture.
- Develop and maintain OT risk registers and recommend mitigation strategies based on risk severity and operational impact.
- Support compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NIST 800-82, IEC 62443, ISA/IEC 62443).
OT Vulnerability Management
- Lead the OT vulnerability management lifecycle, including asset discovery, vulnerability identification, risk evaluation, and remediation tracking.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments on OT systems using specialized tools that minimize impact to critical operations.
- Partner with OT vendors, system integrators, and internal teams across various business units to validate and remediate vulnerabilities in OT environments.
- Prioritize and coordinate patch management efforts in line with operational constraints and safety requirements. Analyze vulnerability trends and threat intelligence to proactively identify emerging risks.
General OT Security Engineering
- Design and implement security controls, architecture, and segmentation strategies in OT environments.
- Provide technical leadership on cybersecurity projects and incident response in OT networks.
- Develop and maintain OT security policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Conduct security reviews for new OT technologies and solutions.
- Participate in red/blue/purple team exercises and tabletop simulations focused on OT environments.

This position is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm CST. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Can be compensated with equivalent experience and/or relevant training
- Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GICSP, OSCP preferred
- Minimum 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years in OT security or ICS environments.
- Strong knowledge of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC, Profinet) and OT systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs).
- Demonstrated experience with OT-specific risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management platforms and OT asset discovery tools
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and MITRE ATT&CK for ICS.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments such as energy, manufacturing, utilities, or transportation.
- Knowledge of security engineering principles in OT contexts.
