About the role:

We are currently seeking a Benefits Manager at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Compensation & Benefits is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of health and welfare benefits, including vendor oversight, compliance, internal and external stakeholder collaboration, and special projects. This role ensures optimal service delivery and regulatory compliance while supporting the strategic objectives of the Total Rewards team. The salary range for this position is $114k - $140k annually.

 

Duties will Include:

  • Manage and oversee the outsourced benefits administration team, including call review, inquiry resolution, governance, legal matters, compliance, and system/data file issues.
  • Manage and lead the company’s annual enrollment process.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Ensure compliant administration of both outsourced and in-house benefit programs.
  • Oversee and drive high-quality customer service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams (Legal, Payroll, IT, Analytics, Finance,
  • Accounting, Accounts Payable, Executive Leadership, and HR teams).
  • Act as liaison to external benefit providers, including outside counsel and consultants.
  • Manage vendor relationships through ongoing communication and scheduled meetings.
  • Lead and manage benefit-related projects including planning, budgeting, testing, and implementation.
  • Manage internal and external audits; respond to Department of Labor inquiries.
  • Analyze benefits data and generate reports for internal and external use.
  • Oversee governance and compliance efforts, including the preparation and maintenance of plan documents, SPDs, financial statements, legal filings, and Form 5500s.
  • Assist in the review, development, and distribution of employee benefit communications.
  • Conduct research and provide recommendations on new or revised benefits and programs.
  • Evaluate and recommend third-party vendors as needed.
  • Lead or support special projects including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, system changes, vendor transitions, and plan modifications.

 

The lifestyle:

This position is a full-time role working Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm CST. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience, including administrative or operational experience in employee benefits managing a team
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skilled with Benefits Administration Systems Supervisory and training skills.
  • Strong knowledge of all types of benefits programs and designs
  • Ability to provide guidance and assistance to stakeholders, and to ensure that all benefits are administered within the laws and provisions of regulatory agencies
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or related enterprise systems
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Extensive industry and process knowledge · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels of the business 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
