About the role:
We are currently seeking a CHPP Process Engineer at our Wambo Mine.  Our Wambo mine complex is a combined open-cut and underground mine located 30kms west of Singleton that produce metallurgical and thermal coal for export and domestic markets. 

Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will safely and efficiently work with our operational team to identify, analyse and report on processing improvements to continuously improve the CHPP processing performance. You will also be responsible for quality management of all coal-processing activities within the CHPP including ROM, product coal, product coal stacking and blend plans for train loading.


This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who will be involved in crew engagement activities and work in an operational plant environment.


Duties will include:

  • Engaging with Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) operational teams in order to enable co-operation and sharing
  • Daily processing performance monitoring and optimisation
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Ensuring business value in all work to get the best cost to benefit ratio
  • Quality management of all coal-processing activities within the CHPP including ROM, Product, Reject and product stacking
  • Blend plans for train loading and assistance with logistics


The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with one rostered day off per month and can allow for a residential lifestyle. 


About You:

  • a degree in chemical engineering or metallurgy
  • Ideally 3 + years’ experience in a similar role in a CHPP environment
  • Strong knowledge of coal processing and an understanding of key drivers of a CHPP
  • A strong commitment towards safety
