About the role:

We are currently seeking a Sr. Talent Acquisition Advisor at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

Reporting to the Director of HR – US Operations, this role will support operational excellence by using a variety of channels to identify, source, screen and select passive and active candidates for all professional and management (salaried) positions (Director level and below) at the Saint Louis corporate office and multiple mine sites in the US.

 

Duties will include:

  • Facilitate the requisition approval process in company-wide system
  • Meet with hiring manager/HR to identify changes to most recent position description for role to be filled; understand critical position elements to inform sourcing and recruiting efforts
  • Utilize all sourcing options to connect with passive and active candidates in creation of diverse candidate pools for open positions (i.e., advertising, cold calling, job site postings, career fairs, online platforms, public recruiting events, internet research, networking etc.)
  • Identify future next generation program candidates on campus and offer summer internships to determine Peabody fit and leadership capabilities
  • Analyze resumes daily using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Screen and interview candidates in order to present a shortlist of 2-3 to the hiring manager
  • Participate in candidate interviews as required
  • Brief and de-brief candidates prior to and post interviews
  • Extend and negotiate offers to selected candidates based on guidance from Compensation
  • Communicate with all stakeholders of open positions on daily/weekly basis as needed; determine start date with new employees
  • Partner with outside agencies to fill candidate gaps due to hard to fill skill sets in market/talent pool
  • Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates
  • Manage 3rd party vendor relationships; facilitate setting up non-employees through outside sources
  • Participate in the onboarding process (references, background and drug screens)
  • Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine effectiveness of recruiting plans and quality of new hires.
  • Assist to develop and then coordinate the local execution of innovative staffing strategies objectives.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Manager TA to identify and develop key sourcing initiatives to ensure a constant pipeline of talent and diverse applicants.
  • Participate with relevant stakeholders on employment branding initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance (and potentially supervision) for junior team members if present
  • Assist in the local implementation of global systems, tools and processes and initiatives
  • Complete other duties as assigned

This position is a full-time role, working from our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR or a related field required
  • A minimum of Five (5) years of full life cycle recruiting experience in either a corporate or agency environment, 2 years of experience may be substituted for an advanced degree
  • Exposure to or experience in mining or a similar heavy industry
  • Prior experience in working with an ATS
  • Familiarity with a variety of different selection methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in coaching / mentoring more junior / less experienced team members
  • In depth knowledge of full cycle recruiting
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing techniques
  • A working knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing employment policies and practices
  • Proficient in the use of social media platforms, job boards and other sourcing channels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail; communication both vertically and horizontally
  • Solid networking skills with the ability to connect on all levels and build relationships with candidate communities
  • Some travel required (25%)

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
