About the role:

We are currently seeking a Sr Manager - Global HR Shared Services (Hire to Retire) at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO

Reporting to the Director PBS Operations, this role will be responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating the teams within the Hire to Retire end-to-end process group which includes Payroll, HRIS and Benefits Administration.  The goal is to deliver reliable performance, high quality, and exceptional business value to our customers. 


Duties will include:

  • Is a subject matter expert (SME) in the Payroll and HRIS space and can guide others to identify and solve complex business process and technical problems.  Is up to date on labor contracts, country-specific (US and Australia) taxes and regulations, and other areas affecting employee pay
  • Delivers service levels that are expected of HTR; works with Governance to measure, monitor and communicate them with stakeholders; and addresses any deficiencies
  • Monitors performance of our two BPO providers and work with Governance on their consistency in meeting service levels and business outcomes; resolve escalated issues including the complex and integrated RASCI roles and responsibilities between PBS and the BPO
  • Engages end-users (HTR customers) on their experience to uncover potential service issues, processing challenges, training opportunities, etc.
  • Adhere and demonstrate compliance to any SOX requirements
  • Identify and maintain proper controls and segregation of duties for all HTR processes
  • Improve employee and manager self-service capability through existing technologies to enhance paperless work, data security, compliance and process efficiency
  • Be responsible for employee development of HTR staff
  • Develop budgets, financial plans and staffing plans that ensure the success of the HTR
  • Complete other projects as necessary and other duties as assigned

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or equivalent
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience leading global HR, benefits, recruiting, compensation, US and international payrolls, master data and/or related systems
  • 10+ years of experience leading large administrative/transactional back offices and/or shared services operations
  • 5+ years of experience managing and delivering customer service
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Familiarity of 6-sigma techniques to arrive at recommendations and improve processes
  • Successful, multi-year track record in progressive leadership positions
  • Cross cultural/international work experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience and use of SAP, SuccessFactors, Kronos and other similar HR and benefits related systems or programs
  • Deep understanding of the entire end to end process for US payroll generation from employee data info types, pay codes and timekeeping, system interfaces, garnishments, gross-to-net calculations, bank file generation, tax and benefit payments, to regulatory reporting
  • Deep understanding of the entire end to end process for Australia payroll generation which includes plus Single Touch Payroll and Long Service Leave
  • Familiar with related accounting rules, internal controls, business continuity, risk assessment, and KPI/OLA/SLA types metrics
  • Excellent written and oral presentation, problem solving, listening, establishing rapport, project management, and facilitation skills
  • Experience with software tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, SharePoint, Adobe, etc.) with ability to learn new systems
  • Strong analytical abilities and decision making
  • Highly developed sense of integrity and confidentiality for employee (PII) related data and activities

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
