About the role:

We are currently seeking a Records Retention and Compliance Analyst at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO.

 

Reporting to Vice President – Legal, this role will manage and administer Peabody’s Records Retention program on a day-to-day basis, including oversight of records reviews, answering mine sites and corporate office’s questions regarding Records Retention and applicability of records retention schedules.  Monitoring, tracking, reporting and analyzing questions and concerns raised through the Tell Peabody system and directly at Peabody’s sites, policy management and program assessment.

 

Duties will include:

Records Retention and Data Privacy

  • Manage, maintain and administer company’s records retention program.
  • Develop and provide training on a global basis regarding the company’s Record Retention Policy and Schedules.
  • Regularly schedule and assist with record reviews to ensure legal, regulatory and organizational requirements are met collaborating across business units to appropriately update, retain and maintain policies and records.
  • Support cross-functional business teams and committees needed to support the records retention and data privacy compliance functions

Ethics and Compliance

  • Analyze data from the Ethics and Compliance software applications and tools. 
  • Assist with the roll-out and track completion rates of annual compliance training programs Assist with global policy review process.
  • Assist with preparation of reports and materials for the Board and Executive Leadership relating to ethics and compliance (such as PowerPoint presentations summarizing data from ethics and compliance software applications), records retention and data privacy.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and entry of data into the Ethics and Compliance system.

General

  • Assist Vice President, Deputy General Counsel in spotting trends in issues relating to records retention, data privacy and ethics and compliance concerns raised across the company.
  • Assist as needed in investigations.
  • Vendor management related to functions as needed.
  • Stay abreast of developments in ethics and compliance, records retention and data privacy.
  • Perform various other duties as requested, including without limitation assisting as needed on due diligence projects, document production.

This position is a full-time role, working from our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.

 

About you:

  • 2 or 4-year degree (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Must have five or more years experience with records retention
  • Investigation experience preferred
  • Corporate Compliance and Ethics experience preferred.
  • Requires excellent PC skills and experience with applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional along with Internet Explorer; must have the ability to learn new programs.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills with ability to follow through on tasks assigned.
  • Must be a proactive individual who seeks out ways to solve problems and provide assistance and support.
  • Requires an individual who is very detail-oriented. 
  • Must have the ability to handle confidential information and materials and multi-task as necessary. 
  • Must possess ability to do his/her job with minimal direction and work as part of an integrated team. 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
  • Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
  • Must be able to use a computer
  • Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively
