About the role:

We are currently seeking a Warehouse Technician to join our Warehouse Team at our Twentymile Mine location. 

 

The Hourly Range for this position is between $30.74 and $37.70 depending on experience.

 

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager. Perform the various duties required to operate the warehouse in an accurate, efficient, and safe manner. This role offers a great opportunity for growth and to expand knowledge and skills.

 

Twentymile mine is an underground coal mine located in Colorado’s scenic Yampa Valley about 20 miles outside Steamboat Springs, a ski resort and vacation destination. The surrounding area has towns both large and small including Oak Creek, Craig, Hayden, and Steamboat Springs. Hunting and fishing are very popular in this area. Shotgun and archery hunting is allowed on Peabody property for employees with proper authorization.

 

Peabody Twentymile has a safety-first culture and has been recognized two years in a row by the National Mining Association as the safest underground coal mine in the United Sates. The award recognizes coal and mineral mining operations with the lowest MSHA reportable injury rate. In 2023, Twentymile completed three years without a single reportable injury.

 

Duties will include:

  • Accomplish the job responsibilities in ways that contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the mine. 
  • Maximize control of the inventory at the most economical cost advantage to Twentymile Coal Company. 
  • Must work independently and as a member of the warehouse team.
  • Develops and maintains a flexible, positive, courteous, professional and helpful approach with our internal customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts and changing hours as needs change within the warehouse.
  • Receive, stock and issue materials, components and supplies
  • Prepare and ship outgoing materials. 
  • Maintain accurate accounting of all materials received, issued, adjusted in a timely manner.
  • Maintain warehouse and designated warehouse area in a clean, organized manner.

About you:

  • Teamwork and able to work independently and responsibly on various shifts.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks or assignments quickly and accurately.
  • Past work history of high energy, effort and initiative.
  •  Knowledge of basic purchasing, warehouse and inventory control practices.
  • Utilization of computer, keyboard skills, system research and accuracy.  Experience with Materials software a plus.
  • Forklift/Loader and material handling experience.
  • Accuracy and detail with paperwork, numbers, inventory items and computer.
  • Customer Service oriented, creating cooperative work environment with internal customers, suppliers and co-workers.  All while maintaining a secured warehouse.
  • Familiarity of mining materials, equipment or parts.
  • Multi-task oriented as the job requires multiple tasks being performed at the same time.
  • Housekeeping and organization.
  • Basis typing (40 wpm) and computer skills on PC and Integrated Systems.
  •  Basic understanding of mechanical principles
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • One year parts experience with ability to read and understand parts lists.

 

Physical requirements:

 

  • Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
  • Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
  • Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders
  • Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination
  • Must have the ability to lift/raise 80 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift
  • Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area
  • Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays)
