About the role: 

We are currently seeking a Pumper to join our Outby Support Team at our Twentymile Mine location. The Hourly Pay Range for this position is between $39.63 and $44.67 depending on experience.

Reporting to the Mine Shift Supervisor. The scope of your role will be to perform all necessary work associated with Outby Support including :  Rock Duster, Pumper, and Shoveler and/or Road Maintenance responsibilities.  This role offers a great opportunity for growth and to expand knowledge and skills.

 

Duties will include:

  • Rock Dust specified areas of the mine
  • Maintain MSHA rock dust system.
  • Repair and replace dust line as necessary
  • Operate scoops
  • Operate pneumatic drills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to operate roof bolter and Cobra drill
  • Centrifugal, submersible and air pump trouble shooting
  • Pump and or motor change outs
  • Sump cleaning
  • Operation of the Northwest Mains fines recovery system
  • Piping and plumbing repairs
  • Fresh water filter changing and maintenance     
  • Fresh water pressure reducing valve maintenance
  • Fresh water booster-pump maintenance
  • Emulsion water system maintenance
  • Surface- Fish Creek deep-well and transfer pump maintenance
  • Surface-10 Right deep-well and booster-pump maintenance
  • Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly PM’s of the pumps and other associated mine water equipment

About you:

  • Knowledge in maintaining outby roof support.
  • Familiar with air and electric pumps.
  • Knowledge of seal and ventilation control construction
  • Methane/Oxygen card Preferred
  • Shot Fire Certification – preferred
  • Colorado Mine Foreman Preferred
  • Electrical Certification Preferred
  • Noise Certification Preferred
  • Previous mining experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Physical requirements:

  • Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift
  • Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
  • Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time.  Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom
  • Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
  • Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.
  • Must have the ability to lift/raise up to 80 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift. 
  • Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, water varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area
  • The job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays

    • impaired vision. Individuals must meet the minimum vison requirements of at least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) with or without correction and at least 70° field of vision in horizontal meridian measured.
