Title:  Tyre Fitter

About the role:
An opportunity exists for an experienced OTR Tyre Fitter with a strong safety focus to join our Wilpinjong Mine.  Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

You will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the successful performance of the mine along with the following duties:  

• Mechanical maintenance and tyre repairs on light, medium and heavy vehicles performed in a safe and productive manner;
• Tread depth measurements, pressure readings and inspections on all heavy earthmoving Mobile Equipment;
• Actively participate in effective shift change over’s and shift Pre-Starts;
• Complete a detailed written hand over at the end of each shift;
• Be an active participant in the Continuous Improvement Program;
• Conduct site hazard reports;
• Minimise production downtime in the event of breakdowns and scheduled maintenance by using effective shift planning techniques.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Proactive role in setting and maintaining a high safety standard;
• Minimum of 3 years OTR tyre fitting experience in the mining industry;
• RIISAM210A remove and fit wheel assemblies or equivalent;
• RIISAM211B Remove, repair and fit tyres or equivalent;
• RIIHAN201A Operate a forklift;
• Cert 2 in Heavy Vehicle Tyre Fitting;
• Experience in Tyre Maintenance Systems.
