Title:  Technical Services Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Technical Services Superintendent to join our team at Wilpinjong Open Cut Mine, located 58 km northeast of Mudgee. Wilpinjong is a high-quality thermal coal operation supplying both export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of mining engineers and technical professionals to deliver short-term mine planning and technical services. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency by developing and executing mining schedules that align with strategic mine plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of short-term mine planning in alignment with medium- and long-term strategies.
• Prepare detailed, cost-effective, and achievable production schedules.
• Ensure mine designs integrate sound mining engineering, geological, and geotechnical principles.
• Coordinate input into annual mine plans and assist with budget development.
• Provide leadership to the team, fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Identify and implement optimisation initiatives across coal quality, scheduling, drill & blast, and load & haul operations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and health standards.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support business objectives.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, governance, compliance, and stakeholder management.

About You:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a Senior/Superintendent role within an open-cut coal mining operation.
• Proven track record in mine planning, scheduling, and cost-efficient operations.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence, mentor, and manage teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in mining software, preferably Vulcan and Spry
