About the role:
We are currently seeking a general hand to join our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) team at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open cut mine located 40 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
The General Hand will assist in the safe production of our Wilpinjong CHPP. They will provide support to our operational and maintenance teams in assisting with preventative front line maintenance ensuring housekeeping is kept to a high standard.
 
Key duties of the role include, but not limited to: 
 
•         Maintain housekeeping to a high standard which will involve manual labour including hosing,

           shovelling and the climbing of stairs
•         Provide leadership in the daily housekeeping of specific areas of the CHPP
•         Undertake training to operate ancillary equipment to assist in the completion of tasks
•         Optimize safe production and quality
 
 
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday 10 hour day shift allowing for a residential lifestyle in Mudgee or nearby towns.
Mudgee is located within the wine region of beautiful Country NSW and is surrounded to by World Heritage Wilderness.
This is a unique opportunity that will allow individuals to escape city life and explore what Mudgee has to offer including enjoying the countryside, bushwalking, exploring the charming surrounding towns and spending time by the Cudgegong River.
 
About you:
•         Have a strong safety and risk management focus
•         Have a positive attitude and good work ethic
•         Previous experience in a manual labour-intensive work environment
•         Previous experience in the safe operation of skid steer and mini loaders
•         Honest and flexible attitude to tasks and required hours
•         Hands on approach to work, ability to 'get hands dirty'
•         Be an effective team player
•         Uncompromising commitment to safety and the environment
•         Ability to identify and report operational issues within a production environment
