Title:  Open Cut Operator

About the role:

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, the scope of your role as a Bench Hand will be to assist the shotfirer in daily loading activities including assisting with measuring and setting out of blast positions. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 48 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Duties will include:

• Loading, priming and firing of blast holes

• Maintenance and adherence of safe loading practices

• identifying and rectifying hazards    

• locating, priming & wiring blast holes in accordance with the agreed design testing & firing pattern  
• Ensuring correct demarcation and communication is used during loading & firing

About you:

• 2+ years’ experience working a shot-firing crew
• Proactive in setting and maintaining a high safety standard;
• Police Clearance Check
• Driver’s License
