About the position:

We have an exciting role for a someone to provide the effective delivery of mine operational technology, including fleet monitoring system, digital two-way radio, mine video monitoring, wireless network and operator awareness systems.

 

This is a dayshift only role on an even time roster, 8 days on, 6 days off where you will be tasked with ensuring ongoing functionality, reliability, integrity of data and timely access to information.

 

The following Operational Technology systems on site include:

  • Hexagon Mineops - HxGN MineOperate.
  • Motorola digital radio.
  • GuardVant operator alert system – OpGuard.
  • CCTV camera network.

 

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Validate production records for each work shift and calendar month. 
  • Work closely with mining, maintenance, IT and Operational Technology teams to ensure continuous and effective operation.
  • Be able to proactively identify faults within the Operational Technology hardware & software systems.
  • Monitor and implement changes to in-pit communications and data transfer infrastructure to ensure all mine areas have effective coverage.
  • Provide support for:
    • Digital radio communication system;
    • Industrial network, microwave, and wireless systems;
    • Fleet Management Systems maintenance and support;
    • Fatigue monitoring systems;
    • CCTV system installation and support.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance of the site network infrastructure.
  • Assist with installation and repairs to GPS and Fleet Management Systems on machines.
  • Source and interrogate data from the mine Operational Technology systems.
  • Perform basic system upgrades as required.
  • Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.

 

About you:

  • Qualifications in Information Systems or a technology related field (Engineering, Radio communications, Electronics or Electrical Trade) with knowledge and /or exposure to heavy mining equipment.
  • Ideally previous experience in a familiar role, preferably in surface mining environment; with experience repairing and maintaining mining equipment.
  • Problem solving & investigative skills
  • Knowledge or demonstrated experience:
    • Fleet Management Systems (FMS);
    • Video camera monitoring technology;
    • Wireless networks and associated infrastructure
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Fantastic relationship management skills and strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, with ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
  • Flexible and resilience in responding to multiple changing priorities.
