About the role:
We are currently accepting applications for the role of Maintenance Superintendent at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will undertake specified and/or general project work as required.  You will implement and maintain maintenance techniques that ensure Peabody’s equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard, whilst implementing practices and processes to get the most out of your team.

 

Duties will include:

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory requirements and all Peabody site policies and procedures
  • Delivery of a safe and healthy workplace and ensure all safety incidents and actions are closed out in a timely manner
  • Ensure the delivery of effective maintenance planning, forecasting and budget outcomes
  • Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment is maintained and periodic calibrations/inspections are recorded
  • Develop a continuous improvement pipeline along with consistently delivering solutions that enhance business outcomes including where required working with OEMs and other Peabody sites
  • Ensure machine health monitoring and assessment information is actioned to deliver extended machine and component life
  • Minimise production downtime and scheduled maintenance through effective planning/delegation techniques
  • Actively promote the four pillars of the Peabody Leadership Model (Inspire, Innovate, Execute, Collaborate)

 

The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with 1 rostered day off per month on top of 5 weeks annual leave.  Employees living locally may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of mortgage interest or rental payments. 

 

About you:

  • Relevant trades qualification or engineering degree
  • Proven experience in a similar role in an open cut environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
  • Extensive knowledge of effective planning and execution processes for mobile equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Cost, contractor and project management experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Project
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (SAP experience is highly desirable)
  • Extensive knowledge of equipment condition monitoring practices
  • Strong business improvement and forecasting/budgeting skills
  • QMS1, QMS2, QMS3
