Title: Maintenance Shift Supervisor
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor on a 7:7 roster to join our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of the country charm of historical Mudgee, the mine produces high quality thermal coal for both the export and domestic markets.
Our supervisors play such a crucial role in engaging the team and setting and driving the standards that will lead to the crew safely achieving high levels of plant availability and reliability. Ideally for those seeking respect & autonomy and wanting to determine their own outcome, whilst still having accessible Maintenance Superintendent support, this role will be responsible for managing all planned, breakdown and repair maintenance activities as well as communicating changes that will impact the mine priorities. You will be part of a dynamic team culture contributing to the successful performance of the mine.
Duties will include:
- Providing practical input into the content of all short and long term maintenance plans
- Providing leadership, motivation and support to all team members, taking accountability for team performance including contractors
- Executing all planned, breakdown and improvement work, minor projects and reliability initiatives
- Reducing equipment downtime by ensuring all maintenance activities are planned, manned and carried out to a high standard, in a safe and timely manner.
- Promoting a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost saving initiatives
- Communicate issues that impact the planned work and extend equipment downtimes
- Use problem solving skills combined with self-motivation to focus on developing solutions and plans to challenges presented in the workplace

About the candidate:
- Uncompromising commitment to leading a safety focussed team culture and demonstrating it through your actions.
- Significant team guidance and leadership skills, including the ability to
- provide mentorship;
- determining where and when to upskill hard and soft skills;
- conduct formal and informal performance management.
- Hold a Trade or Tertiary Qualification in a Mechanical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership capability in a similar role.
- Experience in applying best practice maintenance techniques to optimise equipment availability.
- Knowledge of field equipment including CAT, Hitachi, Liebherr and Epiroc drills
- Experience in SAP maintenance applications will be advantageous.
