Title:  Light Vehicle Diesel Mechanic

Wilpinjong are in the middle of an exciting phase as we strive for operational excellence. We have a mine life in the 2030s and have a collaboration of teammates looking to extend that to the 2040s. Our rosters allow for people to be present in the lives of their family and / or the surrounding community. Located 58 kilometres northeast of the country charm of historical Mudgee, the mine produces high quality thermal coal for both the export and domestic markets.

With our refreshed superintendent, supervisor and LH team, now starting to kick some real goals, we have now bringing Diesel Light Vehicle and Ancillary plant mechanical responsibilities inhouse.

The Light Vehicle Mechanic team will maintain a fleet of mine spec light vehicles, medium trucks, trailers and ancillary equipment.  We are looking to add to our team with those whom have solid diagnostic experience with the ability to repair, or if necessary, replace parts.

About you:

Previous work history and practical experience as a Diesel Light Vehicle Mechanic on mine-sites, with

• a Light Vehicle trade;
• experience with
  • performing comprehensive vehicle fitments and modifications as required;
  • removing and disassembling of engine, both petrol and diesels;
  • gearbox rebuilds;
• drivers licence, manual and HR preferred;
• the ability to Plan and coordinate the repair and maintenance tasks for motor vehicles
• Air-Conditioning ticket highly advantageous;
• Some maintenance planning and parts management experience;
• good attitude with strong work ethic;
• the ability to carry out basic auto electrical work
• evidence to demonstrate a commitment to safety as a way of life;
• knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSEAs, risk assessments and permits;
• the ability to maintain a high standard of housekeeping;
• a commitment to be an effective team player, including a positive attitude;
• strong problem solving skills and attention to detail;
• ideally, the following desirable tickets -
  • Working at Heights;
  • High Risk EWP;
  • High Risk Forklift;
  • Confined space;
  • CN Non Slewing Crane / Franna.
