Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open‑cut coal mining operation located in the western coalfields of New South Wales, approximately 40–50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, near the village of Wollar.  Wilpinjong produces high‑quality thermal coal for both domestic and export energy markets, and is one of Peabody’s most productive and lowest‑cost operations.

About the role: 

We are seeking an experienced CHPP Supervisor to provide strong leadership across day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant production outcomes. 

 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all statutory and site requirements 

  • Oversee CHPP production activities, managing performance, downtime and shift outcomes 

  • Coordinate effective shift handovers, pre-starts, and communication across crews and stakeholders 

  • Monitor performance, drive improvements and ensure production targets are met 

  • Manage and develop team capability, including contractors and operators 

 

About you: 

  • Proven experience in a supervision role within a CHPP or coal processing environment 

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams 

  • Solid understanding of safety systems, procedures and compliance requirements 

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive continuous improvement outcomes 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Mechanical or Electrical trade qualified (Desired but not essential) 

  • Experience using SAP 

  • G1,G8,G9 & G2 training
