Title:  Blast Crew - Shot Firer

About the role: 
An opportunity exists for an experienced Shot Firer to join our Drill and Blast Team at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, this role is responsible for the following:

• Demonstrate safe behaviours and provide visible safe leadership to team members
• Fulfill the statutory Short firer requirements for the mine
• Load of Blast holes to Design
• Comply with relevant Regulations and Workcover
• Tie up Plans and Cost monitoring
• Ordering and receiving of bulk explosive products
• Managing inventory levels of explosive accessories
• Security Management of the reload and magazine
• Audits against company standards

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster and can allow for a residential lifestyle in nearby Mudgee district.

About you:

• Must hold NSW BEUL and have NSW Security Clearance
• 3-5 years’ experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industry
• A staunch commitment to safety and continuous improvement as a way of life
• Excellent verbal and Written communication skills.
