Title:  Technical Services Superintendent

Peabody is seeking a Technical Services Superintendent to join our Coppabella Mine team in Queensland. This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the technical services function, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you'll provide strategic direction, mentor a high-performing team, and deliver technical excellence across mine planning, geology, and survey disciplines.

About the role

As Technical Services Superintendent, you will:

• Lead and develop the Technical Services team to achieve operational and strategic goals
• Oversee mine planning, design, and scheduling to optimise production and resource recovery
• Provide technical expertise and support to operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, productivity, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, projects, and corporate functions
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of technical data and performance metrics

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
• Proven leadership experience in open-cut coal mining operations
• Strong technical knowledge of mine planning, design, and scheduling software
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a dynamic environment
