About the role: .

 

We are currently seeking a Senior HR Business Partner at our Coppabella and Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) Mine Sites. The CMJV complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with a Moorvale extension in Greenfield stage due to start coal production early next year.

 

Reporting to the CMJV Human Resources Manager, the scope of your role will be to provide HR advice and support to the HR Manager, management team and employees across employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, employee engagement and retention, recruitment, record keeping and reporting, training and development, including succession planning.

 


Duties will include:
 

  • Undertake the full range of functions for general HR transactional tasks, , support and advice to the business
  • Assist in the monitoring of HR policies and performance compliance issues 
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation and contemporary HR management practices
  • Provide an advisory service on HR management and workplace relations to management and staff
  • Recommend, initiate and implement strategies to enhance Peabody’s people management capabilities 
  • Provide high quality and timely advice to Managers and Supervisors on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations issues and problems, with a view to establish a sound employee relations environment and appropriate behaviours on site. 
  • Work with the broader HR team to ensure a wide cover of support is available to the business
  • Advise on the performance management processes including position description drafting, goal setting, high potentials identified and the effective conducting of performance feedback to employees to support performance achievement across the business.

 

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.  Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.

About you:
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
  • 2 years’ operating within a senior HR generalist role covering: IR, ER, performance management, recruitment, cultural change, organisational development and HR reporting
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively communicate, promote and uphold HR initiatives and values, including discretion and confidentiality
  • Proven success in the development and implementation of human resource programs and initiatives, including review and improvement of work practices
  • Demonstrated success facilitating cultural change, previous success in fostering a direct engagement culture will be highly regarded
  • Customer service focus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including interviewing, counselling, negotiating and report writing
  • Well developed organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail and the ability to priorities and control own workload
