We are currently seeking a Service Person at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) – Coppabella Mine.  Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

 

About the role:

As a Service Person, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the maintenance team by ensuring equipment is fuelled, greased, and operationally ready to meet production targets.  Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll deliver a safety focussed and high-quality service to Peabody’s mining equipment, helping to keep our fleet running smoothly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to site safety standards and statutory regulations at all times.
  • Conduct daily equipment servicing, including refueling, lubrication, and fluid checks.
  • Assist with basic maintenance tasks as required to minimize downtime.
  • Safely operate a service truck.
  • Perform inspections and report equipment defects promptly.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete reporting requirements during shift handovers.
  • Support the team with continuous improvement initiatives.

 

The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 7/7 roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Camp accommodation is provided. Employees residing locally may be eligible for the Living Away From Home or Accommodation Assistance allowance, depending on circumstances.

 

About you:

We’re looking for a motivated individual with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

 

  • A proactive approach to safety and quality in the workplace.
  • Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Service Person (preferred) or experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of heavy mobile equipment maintenance (e.g., Cat, Hitachi, Liebherr, Komatsu).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with defect reporting.
  • Ability to follow work schedules and adapt to changing priorities.
