Title: Senior HR Business Partner
About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) operations in Central Queensland.
CMJV is a major open-cut coal mining operation located near Moranbah and Coppabella, producing high-quality metallurgical and thermal coal for international export markets. Operated by Peabody, CMJV is a joint venture comprising the Coppabella and Moorvale mines, supporting a large, diverse and operationally complex workforce.
Reporting to the site-based HR Manager, this site-facing role partners closely with the Site Leadership Team to support effective people leadership and decision-making. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior HR Business Partner provides guidance and coaching across a broad range of people matters, enabling leaders to manage their teams confidently and in line with enterprise frameworks.
The role contributes across industrial and employee relations, performance and conduct matters, employee engagement, workforce planning, and organisational change, providing practical, risk-aware advice rather than owning delivery or transactional execution.
A key component of this role is the coaching and support of site leaders, assisting supervisors and managers to build capability in people leadership within a demanding operational environment.
The lifestyle
This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight, working Monday to Friday with one rostered day off each fortnight. The role is primarily site-based at CMJV, supporting strong on-site engagement. FIFO or DIDO arrangements may be considered, depending on individual circumstances.

About you
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Senior HR Business Partner, or a seasoned HRBP ready to progress into a senior role
• Sound working knowledge of employee and industrial relations with the ability to advise leaders on complex matters
• Demonstrated ability to coach, influence and support leaders rather than direct outcomes
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
• Well-developed planning and organisational capability in a fast-paced site environment
