About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Officer at our Coppabella Moorvale Mine, repoting to the Australia Payroll Lead. This role will be the primary resource for timekeeping and payroll matters at site. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) for export markets, with an extension in Greenfield stage due to start coal production early next year.

This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO lifestyle.

Duties will include:

  • Administration of timely data entry (wage codes and hours) and review of all other data in  the timekeeping system;
  • Training for employees and their supervisors in the timekeeping system;
  • Timely response to employee pay inquiries;
  • Collaboration with site HR on any staff matters that could impact employee pay such as employment and roster changes to ensure timekeeping and SAP are in sync;
  • Maintaining leave balances & records;  
  • Knowledge of applicable awards, Employee Agreements, and industrial legislation;  
  • Assisting the business with month and year end processes and reporting; and,  
  • Other duties as directed by AU Payroll Lead or Global Payroll Manager.

 

About you:

  • Several years proven experience in a similar role;  
  • Familiarity with payroll systems;  
  • The ability to work under pressure and have a very strong customer focus;  
  • Knowledge of Kronos time and attendance module;  
  • Knowledge of industrial legislation;  
  • A positive approach;  
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;  
  • Experience in mining or construction industry will be highly regarded;
