Title: Health & Safety Compliance Specialist
About the role:
Reporting to the Health Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Mine Record Entry. You will be part of a small but dynamic team championing a strong Health, Safety and Training culture across the sites, embracing the diverse range of tasks that come with managing separate sites.
Duties will include:
- Assistance with capturing safety interactions and promoting compliance.
- Ensuring incidents are investigated with actions closed out in a timely manner, then audited to ensure quality of data being captured.
- Coaching and providing advice on compliance with all safety legislation and Peabody processes and procedures.
- Responsible for maintenance of the Mine Record Entry.
- Initiate review of SHMS documents according to schedule and assist with SWI development with each department.
- Record keeping of hygiene monitoring requirements and subsequent action plans.
- Assist the Contract Manager with Contractor Compliance & Assist in the Management of Change process.
- Assist with raising Purchase Orders, attend cost reviews and support HST with budget.
- Assist with Hazard Reporting Process, to improve number of hazards identified and recorded.
- Assist / enable CMJV departments to deliver on HST projects / initiatives to reduce incidents on site and see a reduction in HPIs.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information within the HST team.
- Providing a range of administrative tasks to support the HST team.
- Submit all reporting requirements, weekly, monthly, quarterly, Corporate and Regulatory.
- Assist Key Stakeholders with technical & report writing.
- SAP scheduling of Actions, Audits, Critical Control Verifications, Inspections.
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $16,500 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Coal Mining legislation and its application to the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS)
- Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety Management systems, auditing and incident reporting and investigation. RIIWHS601 (G7) desired, along with ICAM Lead desirable
- Must have SAP and SharePoint experience, Pegasus desirable.
- Desirable understanding of Risk Management principles holding the RIIRIS601 (G3) Risk Management qualification, or RIIRIS402 (G2)
- Desirable Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116) qualification and S1,2,3 Mining Supervisor competency
- Possess a strong commitment to behavioural safety and cultural change initiatives.
