Title:  Boilermaker

We are currently seeking a Boilermaker at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV) – Coppabella Mine.  Our CMJV mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometres southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile pulverized coal (LV-PCI) for export markets.

About the role:

As a Boilermaker, you’ll play a vital role on the Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will complete high quality planned and unplanned maintenance of Peabody’s mining equipment.  You will also comply with all site and statutory regulations and maintain a strong focus on safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance with site Safety and Health Management system requirements (including risk management, SOP’s, permits, work instructions etc.).
• Prioritise and undertake specified and/or general work to the required standard and within timeframes
• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
• Minimise production downtime
• Participate in and complete shift change, site meetings, communications or reporting requirements to the required standard.
• Actively engage in the in the Continuous Improvement Program 

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 7/7 roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Camp accommodation is provided. Employees residing locally may be eligible for the Living Away From Home or Accommodation Assistance allowance, depending on circumstances.

 About you:

• Boilermaker/Engineering (Fabrication) Certificate III Trade qualification essential
• Ability to produce and maintain welding standards compliant to AS1554.1
• Familiarity with AS1674.1 Safety in Welding and a proactive approach to safety.
• Ability to identify Category A,B & C Welding environments and their applicable hazards and controls.
• Experience in Thermic Lancing and Air Arc Gouging processes.
• Experience in maintaining and servicing excavators, mobile earthmoving equipment and fixed plant.
• Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSA’s, Risk Assessments and Permits.
• A commitment to being an effective team player.
