Job Summary
This individual is responsible for the planning of and coordination of repair and preventative maintenance activities of the prep plant facility.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years operating, repairing and trouble-shooting a coal preparation facility is preferred.
- Must have basic mechanical skills including the ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical equipment using blueprints, parts manuals, and power hand tools.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and experience leading prep plant maintenance is preferred.
- Welding and cutting experience is desirable.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED

Principal Accountabilities:
- Assists Prep Plant Manager with short term and long term maintenance planning, coordinating repair material acquisition and scheduling maintenance work in a manner to compliment the site operational goals.
- Extensive interaction with supply vendors to coordinate timely acquisition and delivery of materials for repair, both planned and breakdown. This effort will require continuous interaction with company supply chain systems and personnel.
- Through the use of company computer systems, ensure equipment maintenance history is accurately documented. This is a key element to managing current repair backlog and future maintenance planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Establish service intervals, preventative maintenance procedures, and component replacement schedules.
- Prepares and reviews maintenance and repair reports; studies and analyzes costs for potential improvements.
- Participate in failed component disassembly to identify failure reasons and then investigate changes to eliminate or lessen chances or repeat failures.
- May be required to fill in for maintenance supervisors during vacations, off-site training, illness, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours on uneven surfaces.
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 5 hours of time to operate equipment or vehicles.
- Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk or climb up and down stairways and ladders and climb off and on equipment.
- Must have the ability to lift 25 to 70 pounds without mechanical assistance.
- Must have the ability to don and wear required safety equipment including respirators, hearing and eye protection, and protective clothing.
- Must have the ability to work in damp, dimly lit, and confined work.
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination.
