About the role: 
We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator at our Metropolitan Mine.  Our Metropolitan mine is an underground coal mining operation located 30 kilometers north of Wollongong in Helensburgh, NSW producing metallurgical coking coal for export and domestic customers.

Reporting to the Manager - Health, Safety and training, the scope of your role will be to maintain training requirements across the site, require the capacity for high end administration and organization.

 

Duties will include:

  • Maintain the onsite training database ensuring accuracy, quality and standardise the training database to ensure its transportability across the business
  • Ensure the OSTE System is reliable and functional in both the site access requirements and contractor management processes
  • Maintain a Site Training Calendar
  • Ensure the scheduling of employees training courses ensuring alignment with approved training budgets and Training Needs Analysis outlined in Training Scheme
  • Maintain the document and record control for Training Function (training documentations, forms and packages)
  • Implement and track approved Safety and/or Training Project as required
  • Participate and lead with continuous improvement projects as required
  • Provide monthly reporting requirements associated with the Training Function
  • Participate and lead internal auditing activities associated with the Safety, Health and Training function.
  • Facilitation/delivery of Training programs onsite as required
  • Management of site and statutory appointments


The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a part-time basis, working 3 days a week, allowing for a balanced residential lifestyle.

 

About you:

  • Experience as a Training Administrator preferably within mining or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety as a way of life
  • Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office and Avetta Onsite track easy (or similar)
  • Hold a Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with problem solving ability
  • Have awareness or knowledge of the WHS Mines and Petroleum Legislation, including the Order 34 Training and Competency Scheme
