About the role:

We are seeking an Underground Surveyor to join our dedicated team on a 7/7 DIDO/FIFO roster from Moranbah. In this hands on role, you’ll provide critical survey support across our underground coal operations, ensuring accurate data collection, compliance with statutory requirements, and seamless collaboration with operational teams.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Operational Surveying: Deliver precise survey support for production, development, and engineering projects.
  • Compliance & Accuracy: Maintain statutory control networks and meet survey compliance obligations.
  • Stockpile & Reporting: Conduct stockpile surveys, calculate production volumes, and produce regular reports.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor assistant surveyors, fostering a skilled and safety conscious team.
  • Problem-Solving: Apply technical skills and problem-solving to ensure efficient survey workflows.

 

About you:

We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented team player who thrives in fast-paced environments. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Safety Focus: A proactive approach to safety and commitment to best practices in underground mining operations.
  • Qualifications & Registration: Tertiary qualification in surveying and registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (or eligibility to register).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of underground coal surveying experience with the ability to work independently.
  • Equipment Expertise: Experience with Leica Total Stations, Trimble GPS, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office (bonus experience: SLAM scanners, drones, and advanced survey software).
  • Technical & Communication Skills: Attention to detail, technical problem-solving, and clear communication skills.

This position is offered on a 7 days on 7 days off roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane.
