About the role:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Coordinator at our world class Centurion Mine in central Queensland.

This position would suit a mechanical tradesperson, with post-trade qualifications that is looking for a pathway to being a future Mechanical Engineering Manager. You will become an integral part of the Centurion leadership team that is forging ahead to first Longwall coal in early 2026.

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Coordinator is responsible to support lifecycle asset management objectives to meet statutory obligations and business operational requirements. As a service provider to the operations departments a key focus is managing how our customers see us through open communication, collaboration and consultation.


Duties will include:

  • Supporting the design and installation of site assets, including coal clearance systems, development and Longwall mining equipment, underground and surface infrastructure.
  • Provide basic project management for work packages, including schedule and cost management, as well as contractor management and supervision.
  • Create, develop and implement site asset maintenance strategy utilising the SAP work order system.
  • Provide technical leadership and stewardship of mechanical engineering standards to other site teams.
  • Be prepared to act as interim Mechanical Engineering Manager during leave.

About You:

  • Mechanical trade qualified with post trade certificates.  Mechanical engineering qualifications or completion of a graduate program will be well regarded.
  • S1, 2, 3 and G2 competencies.  Previous experience as a supervisor desirable.
  • Sound understanding of underground mining equipment and processes.
  • Self-motivated with can do attitude to learn quickly and work autonomously.
  • Ability to manage critical small projects and articulate progress to various stakeholders.  Experience with conveyor installations would be an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems; SAP along with Microsoft office highly desirable.
