The Opportunity

 

Peabody is seeking an experienced Outbye Electrical Coordinator to join the team at our Centurion underground mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

 

Reporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for the planning, execution and close-out of all electrical maintenance activities. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance and compliance of outbye infrastructure systems, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of production targets.

Your Impact

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of effective electrical maintenance strategies.
  • Provide strong leadership, coaching and development to electrical maintenance crews.
  • Ensure optimal equipment performance aligned with production requirements and the mine plan.
  • Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, tooling and calibration requirements.
  • Maintain underground equipment compliance with site and legislative standards.
  • Assist with budget development and cost management through SAP systems.
  • Oversee weekly work schedules and shutdown planning to minimise unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory and site requirements.

 

About You

 

You are a safety-focused leader with a strong technical background and a passion for developing people, improving equipment performance and delivering operational outcomes.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Electrical trade qualification or Engineering degree.
  • EEM competencies highly regarded.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a similar underground coal mining role.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 and G2).
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and team development experience.
  • Experience using SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and a "can-do" attitude.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and hazard identification.
  • A flexible, collaborative and team-focused approach.
