About the role
Peabody is seeking an experienced Outbye Electrical Coordinator to join the team at our Centurion underground mine, located approximately 160km west of Mackay.
Reporting to the Outbye Superintendent, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and close-out of all electrical maintenance activities. The role ensures optimal performance and reliability of outbye infrastructure systems, supporting safe and efficient delivery of production targets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development and implementation of effective electrical maintenance strategies
- Provide strong leadership and development to electrical maintenance crews
- Ensure optimal equipment performance aligned with the mine plan
- Manage relationships with OEMs and contractors
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams
- Ensure compliance with statutory inspections, tooling, and calibration requirements
- Maintain underground equipment compliance with site standards
- Assist with budget development and cost management through SAP systems
- Oversee weekly work schedules and shutdown planning to minimise unplanned downtime
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and site requirements

This role operates on a 9-day fortnight roster (Monday–Friday, Monday–Thursday) and supports a residential (Moranbah), DIDO, or FIFO lifestyle.

About you
- Electrical trade qualification or engineering degree
- EEM competencies (highly regarded)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar underground coal mining role
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to foster a positive safety culture
- Supervisor qualifications (S1, S2, S3 & G2)
- Demonstrated leadership capability and team development experience
- Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive problem-solving ability and a “can-do” attitude
You will also demonstrate a strong understanding of risk management and hazard identification, along with a flexible, team-focused approach.
