About the Role
Peabody is seeking a onsite Conveyor Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering support for critical bulk materials handling and conveyor systems across mining operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring conveyor assets operate safely, reliably and efficiently to support production objectives and long-term operational performance.
Working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering and project teams, you will identify improvement opportunities, optimise asset performance and deliver engineering solutions that enhance reliability, safety and productivity. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and making a visible impact on operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support for conveyor and bulk materials handling systems.
- Drive reliability improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance and availability.
- Identify asset risks and develop engineering solutions to improve safety and operational outcomes.
- Support maintenance strategies, defect elimination and continuous improvement programs.
- Conduct engineering investigations, root cause analyses and failure reviews.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise conveyor system performance.
- Manage engineering projects and modifications from concept through to implementation.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, statutory obligations and company requirements.

About You
You are a technically capable engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on operational support with long-term strategic improvements. You are proactive, analytical and passionate about finding innovative ways to improve asset performance while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience supporting conveyor systems, bulk materials handling or heavy industrial assets.
- Strong understanding of asset management, reliability engineering and maintenance principles.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing engineering improvements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within mining, resources, manufacturing or other heavy industry environments.
