About the role:

As a Control Room Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations by managing real-time communication and monitoring systems.

 

Reporting to the Shift Coordinator, your focus will be on maintaining safe, efficient production processes, coordinating across teams, and promptly reporting key data and incidents. In this dynamic position, you’ll serve as the central point of contact, making quick decisions to keep everything running seamlessly and ensuring production targets are met without compromising safety. If you thrive in fast-paced environments and have strong attention to detail, this could be the role for you.

Your key responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor production systems to ensure safe and efficient operations at all times.
  • Coordinate real-time communication between teams to streamline workflows and address issues promptly.
  • Manage alarms and critical events, escalating as necessary to minimize downtime and risks.
  • Compile and report production data, ensuring accuracy for daily shift handovers and management updates.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to detect equipment faults early and prevent disruptions.

 

About you:

We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented team player who thrives in fast-paced environments. You’ll bring a blend of technical expertise and collaborative leadership skills to effectively manage multiple processes. To succeed in this role, you will have:

 

  • Effective time management skills to stay on top of priorities and deadlines.
  • The ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously with precision and focus.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support team members toward safe and efficient outcomes.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and operational monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of open cut/underground mining processes to enhance decision-making and support smooth operations.
  • Holds a Coal Board Medical or has the ability to obtain one promptly.

 

The lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 7 days on 7 days off roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO from Brisbane.
