Job Summary

This position is responsible for planning and scheduling equipment for maintenance repairs to assist the efficiency and productivity of the Maintenance Department at Caballo Mine.  

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Visibly support and champion Peabody’s Missions and Values. 
  • Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System.
  • Establish planned maintenance schedules for all mine equipment which includes rolling stock, shovels and drills.
  • Forecasting and budgeting for equipment and component life.
  • Senior Component Tracking.
  • Analytics of equipment cost, component replacement and risk of repairs and replacement.
  • Coordinating between planning and supervisors (maintenance, production and plant) to get work done in a timely manner.
  • Planning and coordinating onsite vendors for repairs to equipment.
  • Ensure adequate resources are available for meeting scheduled and repair/breakdown maintenance.
  • Plan shutdowns to optimize costs and availability.
  • Liaison for operations departments to ensure optimal equipment and plant availability.
  • Work with site/multi-site support engineers to assist in resolution of technical maintenance issues.
  • Liaison with procurement/stores/logistics to oversee inventory and ensure availability of required materials.
  • Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct safety observations and complete safety interactions monthly.
  • Other duties as assigned by the company.

 

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years of experience in heavy maintenance in a mine setting.
  • 5 years supervisor experience.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.  Knowledge of SAP regarding Maintenance activities.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain the Wyoming Mine Foreman Certificate.

  • Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone
  • Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents
  • Must be able to find, remove and return files to/from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person
  • Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc.
