Title: North Complex - (Caballo) Maint Tech Electrical
About the role:
We are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Caballo mine. North Complex is composed of two surface coal mines located in Gillette, Wyoming (Rawhide & Caballo Mines). The mines produce high quality thermal coal that is loaded onto haul trucks and then shipped by rail. It has approximately 465 million tons of coal reserves.

This role will Maintain, troubleshoot and repair in a safe, efficient and productive manner all electrical equipment required for mining and plant operations.
Duties will include:
- Visibly support and champion Peabody’s Mission and Values.
- Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System.
- Troubleshooting, designing, installing and repairing electronic systems and circuits.
- Programming and troubleshooting PLC’s.
- Troubleshooting and maintaining DC control systems.
- Installing electrical circuits, services, controls in an industrial environment in accordance with CFR 30 and NEC.
- Installing, repairing and maintaining high voltage equipment, (transformers, powerline, trail cable, breakers and sub-stations). This also includes repair, installation and troubleshooting on overcurrent relays, under voltage relays, ground detection relays and ground monitor relays
- Repairing and removing motors, DC generators, capacitors and transformers. (Change out rotors, field coils, armatures and bearings).
- Troubleshooting the different control systems on mobile mining equipment (Draglines, Shovels, Electric Trucks and Loaders).
- Conduct safety observations and complete safety interactions monthly.
- Other duties as assigned by the Company

About you:
- Two years of relevant electrical experience or A.A. in Electrical Technology
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to perform welding and maintenance tasks at varying heights.
- Knowledge of CRF30 and NEC.
- Knowledge of control systems on mobile mining equipment.
- Knowledge of high voltage equipment used in mining.
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations.
- Knowledge of electrical construction techniques.
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day.
- Ability to work overtime as required by the Company.
- Ability to train others.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders
- Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination
- Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 - 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift
- Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area
- The job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays
