Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values
  • Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
  • Six(6) months plant or mill related experiance
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and operate plant in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operate support equipment as required.
  • Make appropriate responses to malfunctions or anomalies in the production process.
  • Duties include, but not limited to: plant wash-down, operation of control room, maintenance of crushing and conveying equipment.
  • Capable of welding and cutting (working knowlege)
  • Working knowledge with hydraulic and water pump systems
  • Prefer working knowledge with train load out system
  • Isolate & permit plant for maintenance purposes
  • Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
  • Must be able to work overtime, shift work (12 hour rotating shift), weekends and maintain an acceptable attenance record.
  • Other duties as assigned by the company

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Reach, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls wiht hands and arms, legs and feet
  • Stand, walk; sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; crawl, and climb ladders/steps
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for a minimal distance
  • Talk to, communicate with and hear others
  • See (vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus)
  • Ability to maintain mental focus and concentration
  • Perform all dusties day and night, on all surfaces and in all weather condictions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee reguarly works:

  • In outside weather conditions
  • Near moving mechanical parts
  • May be exposed to dusty, wet and/or humid conditions and vibration
  • Occasionally works at heights and may be occasionally exosed to funes, airborne particles or caustic chemcials and risks of electrical shock
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Education

  • High School Degree or GED Equivalent required
