Peabody is a leading global coal producer, providing essential products for the production of affordable, reliable energy and steel. The company offers significant scale, high‑quality assets, and diversity in geography and products. Peabody is guided by seven core values: Safety, Customer Focus, Leadership, People, Excellence, Integrity, and Sustainability.

About the Role

Peabody is creating a new role for an experienced SAP Maintenance Process Lead to strengthen how our operations plan, schedule, execute, and close out maintenance work across our Australian sites.  This role sits at the centre of maintenance, SAP PM, and operational excellence. You will act as the key conduit between Maintenance leaders, Planners, Supervisors, Technical Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and the SAP Applications team.  Your mandate is to lift work management maturity, improve SAP discipline, simplify processes, strengthen master data, and enable consistent, reliable maintenance execution across all operations.   This is a great opportunity for a hands on maintenance leader who understands how maintenance works on the ground and can translate that into improved SAP processes, behaviours, and system outcomes.

What You Will Do

  • Embed Peabody’s Work Management Framework across all sites, ensuring routine work, statutory work, and major component strategies are executed on time and in budget.
  • Coach and uplift maturity across planners, supervisors, and maintenance teams to strengthen work order quality, backlog discipline, and TECO performance.
  • Review and streamline workflows from notification through to close‑out, ensuring SAP PM supports efficient and reliable maintenance.
  • Improve master data, BOMs, task lists, and asset hierarchies, working with engineering and asset strategy teams.
  • Act as the business lead for SAP PM, partnering with the SAP Business Applications team on enhancements, testing, upgrades, and improvements.
  • Support integration with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure materials, cost centres, and financial processes align with operational needs.
  • Drive reporting visibility across backlog age, schedule adherence, data quality, routine PM compliance, and workflow health.
  • Conduct regular site visits to identify bottlenecks, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Lifestyle

This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with flexible start/finish times and a redistributed working week giving employees the option to finish at noon on Fridays. The role also includes regular travel to Peabody mine sites across Australia.

About You

You can influence without authority, coach effectively, and simplify complexity to drive real behavioural change.
