About the Role
As an Associate, Coal Marketing & Trading, you will join Peabody’s Seaborne Sales & Marketing team operating in a fast paced, high impact environment focused on coal commodities trading across Asian markets.
This is not a traditional graduate program. You will gain hands on exposure across sales, logistics, pricing and commercial operations, building a deep understanding of how value is created and optimised across the full commodity value chain.
The role is designed to accelerate high potential individuals into future customer facing and commercial leadership roles.
What You Will Do
- Develop an understanding of coal markets, pricing dynamics and international trade
- Support sales contracting, customer engagement and commercial negotiations
- Rotate across logistics, trade finance and commercial operations
- Analyse market trends, customer demand and pricing opportunities
- Work closely with internal teams to optimise product value and delivery outcomes
- Contribute to strategies that drive revenue, margin and customer outcomes
- Progress towards direct customer ownership and sales execution
The Lifestyle
This is not a typical Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 role.
- Work aligned to Asian market trading hours (typically afternoons into evenings)
- Exposure to real time trading activity and global customer interactions
- Fast-paced, high output environment where priorities can shift quickly
- Occasional weekend support during logistics activities, with flexibility and time in lieu provided

We are looking for individuals who:
- Have recently graduated (within the last 2 years), or are completing studies in June 2026
- Hold a degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, International Business, Logistics or similar
- Demonstrate strong commercial thinking you plan, analyse and add value before acting
- Show resilience and a willingness to take on and apply feedback
- Are proactive and take ownership in high pressure situations
- Have a genuine interest in commodity markets, trading or global business
- Communicate confidently and engage well with stakeholders
- Are flexible and comfortable working outside traditional hours
